2025 Medal of Honor Recipients
In recognition for extraordinary acts of valor and heroism, the Idaho Law Enforcement, Firefighting and EMS Medal of Honor is awarded to law enforcement officers, firefighters and EMTs who have been distinguished by exceptionally meritorious conduct, assuring that the sacrifices of these professionals are recognized and their bravery honored by the state whose citizens they protect.
In 2025, the Idaho Medal of Honor Commission met and selected one law enforcement officer to receive the Medal of Honor. The 2025 recipient is:
Sergeant Taylor Beach
Coeur d’Alene Police Department
On February 27, 2018 Sergeant Taylor Beach and her trainee responded to a traffic stop to assist an officer who had identified a fugitive with felony arrest warrants. The suspect exited the vehicle with a firearm and shot at the officers seriously injuring the trainee officer. Read more >>>

Garden City Police Department
On August 9th, 2023, Corporal Sikko Barghoorn with the City of Boise police Department responded to shots fired in and from a residence. Officers learned that an innocent person was trapped in the house. Read more >>>
